Operating instructions to extend bearing life:
1. Keep the bearings free from dust, dirt and moisture.
2. Use drawings to familiarise yourself with the design.
3. Make sure your bearings meet the specifications on the drawings.
4. Check the housing bore and shaft seat for accuracy of size, shape and position and for cleanliness.
5. Make sure that the bearing ring is not affected by edges when seated on the shaft or in the housing bore. A sliding angle of 10° to 15° is helpful.
6. Wipe off any corrosion protection on the seat and contact surfaces.
7. Apply a very thin layer of a suitable mounting paste to the cylindrical seat of the bearing ring.
8. Do not cool the bearing. Condensation can cause corrosion in the bearing and housing.
9. Apply a suitable lubricant to the bearing after installation.
10. Inspect the bearing carefully to ensure that it is functioning properly.
